a letter to ebay fraudmeister "dan" from my pal mike:
"Hey Dan,
Just got your Ultimate Spider-Man #1. What the fuck are you trying to pull?
Here's what your description said at the ebay auction:
This auction is for issue #1 of the phenomenon known as Ultimate Spider-man. In other words, this is Ultimate Spider-man #1 Red Cover. This is NOT one of those toy store, shoe store, restaurant or "Special Edition" reprints that have been popping up everywhere. For most of you, that is all that needs to be said. Payments will be accepted threw Paypal or Money orders. Thanks and Happy Bidding.
Why the hell did you send me the FREE COMIC BOOK DAY issue? You have two choices: Send me what you promised in your ad or send me a certified check for $41.50.
You have until Wednesday (6/19) to reply and until Monday (6/24) to send the comic or money without my contacting ebay, the New York State Attorney General's Office, or finding out where you're from and driving their myself.
Now, ebay says most of the time these things can be worked out in a simple email for a simple misuderstanding. Wouldn't that be a happy alternative to legal proceedings?
Don't for a fucking minute think this will just go away.
-Mike"
things like this make me all fuzzy inside.
