hello, superfans. it's mentions day over here on the landscape:

got a mention over at neilalien.com a dr. strange oriented blog, lamenting my lack of posting thru september. i'm back, neil.

also was pointed to Read Comics in Public, a blog devoted to getting all of us to do just that. anyway, i sent him a note saying i did it, and well, the rest is chronicled there.

i read these over the weekend. small week, last week, but pretty tight:

• Way of the Rat #6: $ K
  waffling on this one... gotta find a way to cut back, but i do enjoy that crazy po-po. hrm.
  
• Fables #6: $ K BoW
  a great read. consistently. and it really draws me into the mystery. i want to know what's going to happen.
  
• Powers #24: $ K
  how can i say enough. i can't. i can't say enough.
  

the thing about fables is it reminds me why i love collecting comics. the serial is a form we pretty much only get in tv these days (and harry potter novels), where cliffhangers keep you on the edge of your seat. fables doesn't have tremendously over the top exciting cliffhangers, but the book gives me a sense of anticapatory excitement i wouldn't get if i was reading the trade. now. does that mean i shouldn't give up some other books and switch to trades? who knows. what i should do is stop reading this crap altogether. give my brain a chance to regenerate.
