wow. as dicussed last week, there was a lot of reading, and i did give in and pick up a couple more books (though i stuck to my guns and did not pick up catwoman. so there.) anyway, with the rm/l-p on a weekend getaway, i got to my books in short order, so here we go...

• Amazing Spider-Man 41: $ K this was one of those issues i picked up late. fine, i'll keep it. enough false posturing on dropping this book already. sigh.

i didn't even pick up stan lee's sandman, as i knew there would be plenty of copies for weeks and weeks, and i'm not going to read it anytime soon (crap crap crap is what that stan lee/dc series is), but since i've got almost the entire series, i've got to finish it. i guess.

and who would have thought i'd start enjoying superman. i've had an inkling lately to pick some up, and i had read over at the fourth rail that this was a pretty good standalone issue (action comics 792 above), so i tried it, and i am wanting to try more. there is something i very much like about the man of steel, who, while not as internally tortured as bruce wayne/batman, or as reluctant as peter parker/spider-man, finds he must do the right thing because, well, it's the right thing to do. hmmm. the only thing that worrie me with this guy is that all four of his titles seem to share storylines. a good move on dc's part, getting fans to pick up four titles at a time, but for a new fan, bad news. what to do. what to do.

there's still plenty of back-reading to do (g.i. joe, and that damn elektra/wolverine illustrated text thing, that i've been wanting to read for ages, but want to really devote time to, and haven't had it to devote...), but there you are for this week.
